Dream Job (almost)
As I've mentioned before, I subscribe to a daily email from Idealist.org that lists new jobs that match the criteria I've specified. The other day I learned about this job: Consumer Rights Attorney for the National Consumer Law Center. It looks almost like the ideal thing I will be shooting for once I get my J.D.
Can anyone who is either in law school or who has been through it tell me what I should be looking for in law schools to help me get a job like this? Right now I'm just asking generally about "public interest" programs and loan repayment programs. Are there more specific things that I should be looking for (like specific classes they might offer, for instance)? Thanks.

I read the post on applications and let me just chime in my experience.
I sent in my application in November, took the LSAT in December and got my acceptance letter in Febuary. Of course, St. Louis University isn't a schmancy coast school, but I wanted to stay in town and after Washington U and Columbia U I've had enough of schmancy schools.
That said, relax and good luck. The English PhD was my second option after law school, its nice to read your experience.

Thanks, Nikki. It helps to know the early application may not be critical. I suppose it partially depends on the strength of your application, which depends at least in part on the strength of your LSAT score. I'm focusing on that at the moment: The exam is on Oct. 5, so I'm going to postpone freaking about applying until Oct. 6th.
