About, please

I just have a simple request: If you have a blog, could you please make an "About" page that tells me just a little, even a teensy weensy bit, about who you are, maybe where you are, maybe what you think you're doing w/your blog and/or w/your life? It's easy to do, and your readers will all appreciate it because it helps put what you say in a meaningful context. Mine's a little outdated, but it gives you the main idea. Oh, and please don't make me navigate to your early posts and sift through them trying to see if you wrote some early "this is who I am and what I think I'm doing here" post. If you wrote one of those, just link to it on your front page with a simple little word: About. Please?

Thank you.

um, will an 'about' section suffice? I don't have an 'about' page, but I do provide a few descriptors on the front page...

Well sure, of course, that's definitely one way to do it. Readers who go to your site can know right away at least *something* about where your're coming from, and that's the point. Simple. Effective. Appreciated by all.

Context really is everything, isn't it?

whew :)
I agree here. When I visit a blog that's new to me, if I don't find anything that interests me in the current posts, I instantly begin looking around for some info about the person to decide if I'm intrigued enough to return later.

That means I'm going to have to think of something clever and witty to say about me. Tough assignment.

Still though, good reminder because it's something I've been meaning to do. I will do it for you. :)

I did post a blurb. Nothing clever or witty, tho. ;)

I'm far too uninteresting for an about page, but I agree that this should be put into practice for everyone else.

I basically feel the same as TJ. I think everybody else is interesting, and I want to read their about pages, but not me.

Have had no luck at all on the clever or witty thing, either.

Would you believe that for the last two months, I've had "Write TYoH FAQ" written on my task list, but just haven't done it. :(

I know that not providing one is bad form. I promise, it's coming...

I am now in compliance. I applaud your efforts to bring some actual "community" to the vast blawg community.
