j9: I already checked w/Canadian immigration. I appear to qualify for a special work visa. But what would I do there, really?
em: the polling places I was at were mostly cool. I said a little more about it here, but basically it kind of seemed like we weren't very necessary, which means things were working properly, and that's good. Of course, the experience also illustrated vividly that presidential elections should be national holidays, all public transportation (including cabs) should be free, polling places should be by choice (w/in regions or neighborhoods you should *always* be able to vote at your closest polling place -- always always always), etc. The system is very badly broken, but according to its own screwed up rules, it seemed to be working fine yesterday from what I saw.
