Post-Inaugural FridaySome Friday fun for you:
- JibJab's latest animation gets some good licks in against Bush and Co, but manages to give the impression of being critical and funny in a non-partisan way.
- A great clip from Fox News where the interviewer was surprised when her interviewee wanted to talk seriously about the election.
- The jury pool from hell included a morphine addict, a former mental patient, and other interesting characters.
- 49% of Americans polled say Bush is a “uniter” (another 49% say he's a “divider”). What did Bush unite? Oh yeah, global opposition to his policies!

Don't the results of the poll (49% uniter, 49% divider) at least provide strong evidence that the later is true?

Just gotta tell you that the pics are excellent (I wasn't there with the NLG this time because of work). I've sent a link to some midwestern types who thought it was good to see what CNN and other newmedia aren't showing. Thanks for posting them.

I second Lynette re your pics--really they are the best coverage I've seen of the event. I think the structures convey the nature and meaning of the event far more significantly than anything on CNN, etc. I like L's comment re "symbols on symbols," too. I kind of bet they'll start putting little flag pins on those flags pretty soon...
Also, re Jib-Jab; yes this latest cartoon seems pretty banal. I think it was ordered up by and primered on the Jay Leno show, which perhaps says something. Who can say however whether Jay inspired the lamness of the Jib-Jabbers, or merely discovered it?
I'll maybe post a bit more about your pictures later today in my own little corner.
Hope you and L. are doing well.
