If Chewbacca lives on Endor....
In a couple of hours I have to give a closing argument in a fictional case for a class. I'm seriously thinking about using the Chewbacca Defense. I mean, I stopped caring about grades a long time ago, so why not? Plus, if it's good enough for Johnny Cochran....

How much would it take for you to do it? I am sure we could get $200 for you if you do. Do it!!!!!

Hey, you should have responded earlier. I would have done it for $50. But basically I *did* do it. I argued that a mom wasn't guilty of drug distribution and child cruelty after using crack while pregnant because she had not *intended* to use the drugs b/c she was *addicted.* As far as my "jury" was concerned, I might as well have been talking about Chewbacca on Endor...

I tried that theory out on my supervising attorney for my trial this time last year. She nixed it. She didn't even let me get past the word "Endor." Luckily, I won anyway.

We discussed doing this so many times but no one ever had the cojones. We really would have chipped in for you to do it as an extention of the LRAP gift from the class of 2005. Too bad they didn't do this during the moot court final.
