"As long as we see enemies, we will be seen as enemies." True. Someone commented today on NPR that Bush talked in his inauguration speech about how spreading liberty around the world is good for America, but the rhetoric is that we're scared of the rest of the world, so we want to "spread liberty" as a defensive measure. What if we reached out with a helping hand, rather than a defensive one?
